Read the following before registering for your skills days:
If you register for a skills day and need to cancel, you must do so no later than 72 hours prior to the course date. If you cancel within 72 hours of the course date, then you are subject to a $50 rescheduling fee and immediate suspension from the program until the fee is paid. If you do this a second time, you will be charged a $100 rescheduling fee and be immediately suspended from the program until the fee is paid. If you do this a third time, you will be immediately dismissed from the EMS Academy. When you register for a skills day you are taking up a spot that someone else could be using. No call no showing or cancelling within 72 hours prevents other willing students from completing their skills training in a timely manner.
Prior to Registration:
- You must attend your skills days prepared. Follow along with the skills sheets found in the “Skills” section as you watch the videos posted on the Student Website. In order to be adequately prepared, you should feel comfortable with the skills sheet and know what to expect for practice.
Registration:
- Select the skills day you need to register for below. If there are no available dates, then all of the dates have been filled. Please check back frequently. Each city does at least one series (Medical, Trauma, and Testing) each month.
- There must be at least 3 students for a skills day to be held. If there are not 3 students scheduled, the skills day will be rescheduled.
What to Bring (applies to ALL skills days):
- You must be in full uniform for medical, trauma, and skills testing. If you are not in uniform, you will be sent home.
- Your own stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.
- Two copies of each skills sheet.
- You will be given a 30 minute lunch break. We encourage you to bring your own lunch. If you don’t, then plan to obtain your own lunch and be back within 30 minutes.
