Shift Times

Acadian Ambulance runs 12 shifts. Start times vary between 0400-1100. Be prepared to start at any of those times. You are not guaranteed any particular start time.

GENERAL CLINICAL ROTATION TIPS

  • You are not confirmed for a clinical shift until the Clinical Coordinator has sent you written confirmation.
  • All shifts are assigned based on availability of the Clinical Site. RCHS does not control their schedule. We will notify you when we are notified.
  • Your arrival time at the Clinical Site should be 15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
  • You will need to add an additional 30 minutes on to your recommended GPS arrival time to ensure punctuality.
  • Whatever you put into your clinical rotations is what you’ll get. Show initiative. Don’t hold up the wall.
  • While at the ER, if a bed needs to be made, make it. If the room needs to be cleaned, clean it. Ask the nurse or tech if they need help with anything and everything including transporting patients to the floor or fetching some blankets/towels.
  • If you get a late call, take the late call. It’s part of the job.
  • Take criticism well, be nice, be early, be courteous to everyone, listen and learn, and have fun!
